LATIN AMERICAN ROADSHOW

The Latin American Roadshow is the UK showcase for Latin American culture. LAR is music, dance, mime, puppetry, painting & food, performed by Latin American and British artists living & working in London and UK. It is a total Latin American experience over a single weekend.

LAR is a platform for Latin American traditional arts, especially those less represented by other festivals and media, and for groundbreaking new partnerships.

We ran the first Roadshow at London’s BAC in 2003. It was an inspired mixture of sensational acts, from Chilean performance poetry through the Ritual Scissors Dance of Peru to classical guitar and Sixties style bossa nova. LAR 2 ran at Riverside Studios. We added new music into the mix, and Brazilian painting and exploited Riverside’s great dance floor with the explosive show Subitango and two nights of salsa.

Festival Director Mark Troop, “There’s so much great Latin stuff already here in London and The Latin American Roadshow is the natural platform for it. If it’s about Latin America and it’s good, you’ll find it here.”
