Songs & Chamber Music

In the beginning our concerts including voice were a significant innovation in itself. The world has moved on, but these programmes remain amongst CMC’s most popular, especially where the voice is that of the Indian Nightingale, Patricia Rozario.

Clarinet & Voice programme

Our most popular programme over the years, featuring The Shepherd on the Rock,   Schubert Lieder and Brahm’s Clarinet Trio

Horn & Voice Programme

Schubert’s great song Auf dem Strom with horn, Brahm’s Horn Trio
& Elgar’s Violin Sonata

The CMC Voice Trio – soprano, clarinet & piano.

Schubert Lieder & the immortal Shepherd on the Rock (plus one or two Schubert rarities), Spohr, Schumann, Mozart plus delightful English song from McCabe & Gordon Jacob

CMC Trios, Quartets & Quintets

We like to vary the texture and include solos and duos. It’s the way concerts used to be, and it helps us pursue variety within tradition as well. In line with other CMC themes Rediscoveries & New Music are on offer. To give you a flavour:
