About CMC

We started The Chamber Music Company to fill an imaginative gap in the UK music world. CMC now offers musical experiences for all tastes.

Creative concerts of well-known masterpieces led to CMC Rediscoveries, where we uncover gems from the past. The CMC Rare Music Series was launched at London’s Purcell Room in May 2003, to set well-known masterpieces in their context.
The eclectic mix of players in the group led to sharing our work and ideas with those from the folk and world disciplines. This led to the Latin American Roadshow, premiered in May 2003. The need to programme new music has led us to create new music theatre work and the Second Glance Festival – recently exported to South Africa.
The excitement of it all needs to be shared – leading to work with schools and our credo of “education through participation”.

CMC promotes Classical Music with flair and imagination. Our access to the traditions of the world, to different forms of music making, has immeasurably enriched that experience. We offer you that enrichment too.

The Chamber Music Company is a multidirectional performance group. CMC gives inspirational concerts of classic repertoire, runs festivals, commissions accessible new music, promotes music theatre and cabaret and combines with musicians from other disciplines.

The core of CMC is vocal and instrumental – soprano Patricia Rozario and an ensemble of piano, violin, cello and clarinet. Run by pianist and Artistic Director, Mark Troop, CMC has produced innovative and stimulating work all over the world and currently runs four Festivals in the UK.

Whether playing a straight classical concert or commissioning new work CMC’s ethos is the same: crossing boundaries and opening up possibilities for music in the 21st Century.
